About

My name is Amanda! I grew up and remain living in Minnesota!!!! My boyfriend and I have owned a house for three years now and have the cutest puggle named Buzz! I have the best friend a person could ask for, which she has helped me through many of my decisions through life! I am a bit indecisive at times! I decided to start this blog in hopes that I can share my journey through weight loss, nutrition, and living life to the fullest.

I grew up in the country with a lot of space for creativity, but I disliked the fact that it took what seemed like forever to get to town and enjoy sports and leisure activities.I played basketball and softball growing up.  I remain playing adult softball and love it!! I grew up eating spaghetti, macaroni & cheese, pizza, etc.  It was cheap and convenient.  I spent most of my free time four-wheeling, biking into town, and being active with my neighbor kids.  I look back, and that seemed like “normal!” But, why a blog?? My “normal” has completely changed.

In the latter part of highschool and into the first two years of college, I was having fun and started to slip on taking care of myself.  I was going to school for Criminal Justice and my grades were fine and I felt like I was on the right track until I realized I was unhappy.  I was unhappy with my lifestyle and the way I was treating myself.  I joined Anytime Fitness and started working out religiously.  I have lost 40 pounds and have kept it off for two years now!  I applied at a detention center and went in for the interview and decided this was NOT what I wanted to do with my life.  I have now changed my major to Nutrition and am loving every minute of it.  It’s tough, don’t get me wrong.

I have changed the way I eat and look at food.  I love, love changing super fattening and high caloric foods to low-calorie, low-fat meals! I hope to blog about my fitness challenges, school, and delicious meal recipes! I have run one half marathon 1:57:54.  I’ve also ran a few 5k’s! My goal now is to help others change their lifestyles and to live this “normal” life of being healthy and happy!
